Happy Friday!

Important News for the week of September 3-6

• Please send in any more Family Information Sheets and Friendship Friday T-Shirt form and money, as soon as you can.

• We would like to announce that we have 3 wonderful moms who have agreed to be our room moms. They are Mrs. Ganganath, Mrs. Miyairi, and Mrs. Noda. I'm excited to work with you this year!

• NO SCHOOL - Monday September 2nd for an American holiday. 

• Music supplies - Please continue to send in the music folder with the supplies. Also, the black pants and white shirt do NOT need to be sent in to school. I will let you know more information about that later. 

• Folder - Every day, I have been sending home the homework folder. Today, I will send home the Friday Folder with any work your child has completed. Please look through it, take the papers out, and send the folder back to school with your child on Tuesday.

• Next week, I will sending out some math homework. I will also add on Bible memory. Our Bible memory verse for the week will be "I will hide your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:11 Please have your child practice it at home, because I will test them on Friday.

Music Binder

Hello,

I told some parents at Open House that I would give you more information about the Music Binder. It is the first year for the music teacher so it is experimentation for all of us. As for now, he would like a

If you could please send this with your child by tomorrow morning so we can be ready to go to music with all of our supplies, that would be really helpful. If not, I have some extras the students can use. 

ALSO, about the dress code for music. The white shirt, black pants or skirt is only for performances - the students DO NOT need to wear this to school on the music days. Sorry for the confusion about that!

Remember, this is an experiment year for music, so if it doesn't run smooth or the communication is bad, I'm sorry, we are all learning how it works!

School Supplies Needed

Hi everyone!

I am in need of a few off supplies from home. 

1. Cereal boxes. If you have any cereal boxes (only the box) that you would be able to donate to our classroom, I have a project I would like to do with them for the students. Which means I need 18 boxes, so as many as you have, or continue to have please send them in!

2. Old tape players. Do you have any old tape players lying around your house that you never use? I would like to do a reading center where the students listen to books tape and I'm looking for at least one or two more tape players. If you can help, please let me know!

Room Mom

1.2 is still looking for a Room Mom!

If you are any bit interested, please come to school tomorrow at 2pm in the Cafeteria for a meeting to see if this is something you would like to do. 

Remember, this year, we are looking for more than one room mom. Even if you think you can't do much because you can't speak English, or do not feel confident, please, I need your help!

Homework Checklist Aug 27-30

Hi everyone!

We are starting to learn more and more here in First Grade. We have already learned most of the procedures to how First Grade works, so this week, we will begin diving into our different subjects of Reading, Math, Bible, Writing, Social Studies, Science etc. 

For this week's homework, please look at the Homework Checklist. We will start easy this week with only one assignment and work up to adding another subject next week.
