Scholastic Book Orders

A few weeks ago, I sent home the Scholastic Book Order Form. Unfortunately, I wasn't completely sure how it all worked. Sorry about that! Now I do and here are the details:

The International School Book Club is a great way for you and your child to choose books together. There is never any obligation to order but if you would like to buy anything, I have set up an online school group order so that you can visit 
http://world.clubs-school.scholastic.co.uk/okinawa-christian-school-intl, add books to our basket. You will need to pay by credit or debit card and the books will arrive in school to distribute to your child. Cash or check will not be accepted for this order. I apologize for any inconvenience.

The price of the books are what they are listed as. The postage fee is included in the price of the books.

How to order online

2. Select the books that you’d like to order and add them to your basket.
3. Checkout and choose the ‘school delivery’ option.

Harvest Day

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I hope you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving break and enjoying time with family and friends!

Harvest Day was a great success!! I'd first like to thank the moms who came out to help me! I couldn't have done it without them! They helped pass out snacks and help me prepare the craft.

Thank you also for everyone who donated supplies, pies, and snacks for the Harvest Day! Many students enjoyed tasting the dried fruits. The pies were also very delicious!! We had a fun afternoon watching a movie, extra recess, and taking pictures. Here's a little slide show from Harvest Day.

Nov 19 and 20

Hi!

There was no newsletter sent home on Friday! Sorry! We just have a short week next week.

There is NO spelling words or NO Bible memory verse for this week. AND NO HOMEWORK!!!! :) I still encourage everyone to be reading at least 15 minutes each night!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Walkathon!! It was a great success!! I really enjoyed seeing the students working hard and walking AND having fun!! I hope everyone is not too tired and is ready to have some fun at school before Thanksgiving break.

Please remember that we do not have school on Wednesday Nov 21- Friday Nov 23. Have a wonderful time off of school and enjoy some time with friends and family being thankful for what we have.

Sorry friends! I was home today sick with a cold... I was thinking about my students all day though! I will be back with you tomorrow!!

Harvest Day

Harvest Day - Nov 20th

Harvest Day is an all day event where the students rotate between 1st and 2nd grade classrooms to learn about different aspects of Thanksgiving through crafts and stories. 

So... I need some help! I’m looking for several parents who would like to volunteer to help me on Harvest Day! If you would like to help me, please email me. I need several parents from 8:30-11:00am and/or 12:00-1:00pm.

Our snack for Harvest Day will be dried fruit. If you could please donate some bags of dried fruit, that would be wonderful! By dried fruit I mean dried mango, bananas, oranges, any other kind.
