The Reading Campaign is a month long celebration of reading at OCSI. This year the dates are from May 7th, Tuesday - June 7th, Friday. Students will- read from a variety of genres
- complete AR tests
- increase comprehension
- increase vocabulary
- read for longer periods of time
- read more often
- grow in the enjoyment of books
- collect fun prizes!
Different genres: nonfiction, fantasy/science fiction, fairy tale/folk tale, mystery, animal stories, historical fiction, biography, realistic fiction, sports, and award winners.
Here's how it works:
Choose a book from one of the genres. Read 3 books in that genre and pass the AR tests. Collect a Level 1 Prize!
Choose another genre, then read and pass the AR tests on three books. Collect another Level 1 Prize!
After 5 genres - collect a Level 2 Prize!
After 10 genres - collect a GRAND PRIZE!!

This is the form the students will carry with them to list the books read and test taken. Please make sure they keep it in their folder so it gets returned to school every day!
