Last 1st Grade Update!!

Thank you for a fantastic year!!! Thank you to the parents who sent in food - we had a great last day of school and party!! Also thanks for all the special end-of-the-year gifts! :) I had a fantastic time with your children. Have a wonderful summer!

Also, today I returned the students' music supplies. The Music teacher didn't end up using those supplies, so you can reuse them for next year, or some other purpose!

Summer School - If you child has no place to go this summer - there is still room open for summer school at OCSI! You can sign up until this Friday!

Friday News for the Week of May 30-June 2

Happy Friday! Only one more week of school! :)

We had another fabulous week in 1st grade today!

Writing: We finished up our Animal Research writings this week and they look fabulous! The students worked really hard with reading the research, compiling it, organizing it, and then finally writing it using indentation and paragraphs! Wow! Next week we’ll present the animals research to each other!

Math: We finished up ALL of our math today! The students brought the finished workbook home today. We also took a Chapter 1-10 test and the students did really great! I’m so proud of them!

Bible: We learned the story about the Israelites returning to Israel after 70 years. King Cyrus allowed them to return to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. Some Jews stayed in Babylon, but some went back to help rebuild. Today we learned about Ezra who fasted and prayed for the people of Israel to turn back to God. Next week we’ll learn about Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem!

Science: We are starting to learn about the human body this week and next week! We are going to learn 6 systems of the body: Respiratory, Circulatory, Digestive, Nervous, Skeletal, and Muscular.
