Happy Friday! (Only one more Friday left in the school year!)
I was so glad to be back with my first graders this week after a few days with the 5th graders! The students also said they had a fun time with their sub!
This Week…
We are still going strong on all of our learning! It doesn’t stop yet!
… we learned about halves and fourths and equal parts to get ready for fractions!
… we learned how to compare and contrast two texts, or stories, or characters.
… we reviewed and practiced all the spelling words each students missed from the beginning of the year until the end!
… we are finishing up our nonfiction animal books by illustrating and adding a table of contents.
… we learned how King Cyrus allowed some of the Israelites to return home to Israel to start rebuilding the temple! God kept his promise like always!
Today Mrs. R brought cake for a mini celebration! (Maybe that explains why your child came home hyper… :P)
Next Week:
Spelling Words: I’m, can’t, we’re, he’s, don’t, we’ll, who’s
Bible Memory Verse: “Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” Nehemiah 9:5b
Last Day of School:
June 12th - 12:30 dismissal
Class Party: Only 8 more days until the end of first grade - unbelievable! On Wednesday, June 12th school will be dismissed at 12:30 and no lunch will be served in the cafeteria. So instead, let's have an end-of-the-year party! Parents are invited to come! Each child (and parent) needs to bring their own bento or lunch for the day. We will each be eating our own lunches... BUT after that we will have ICE CREAM SUNDAE'S!! I will supply the ice cream but I'm wondering if you can help supply some topping for Ice Cream Sundaes. Attached is a link to a signup genius site where you can sign up to bring some items if you would like to!
