Happy Friday!
We had another fun and learning-filled week in 1st grade.
Here’s what we learned:
Reading: We learned all about Authors and Illustrators this week. We learned that sometimes the authors and illustrators are different people, but sometimes they are the same. We also learned that WE can be authors and illustrators! I read a story to the students that I wrote when I was in 4th grade! We looked in our book bags and found the authors and illustrators of the books we were reading.
Math: We learned about the nickel!!!
We learned that a nickel is the same as 5 pennies and we can use it to exchange a lot of pennies into only a few coins. Counting nickels and pennies are a little tricky but the students are working hard and doing a good job! Today we played a fun game where we collected pennies and exchanged them for nickels.

Bible: We continued learning about Abraham this week. This week we learned that 3 visitors came to Abraham and told him that by next year, he and Sarah would have a baby! Sarah was so shocked so she laughed! But NOTHING is impossible with God! A year later, sure enough, Sarah had a baby names Isaac which was God’s promise all along to Abraham. How cool is that?
We watched this fun video and danced around to the other one.

TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER 29 is PICTURE DAY!!!!!!! Come to school dressed in your best! Our time is first thing in the morning so you can send a change of clothes! If you would like to order, fill out the form, place the money in the pocket, seal it and send it back to school. I will turn it into the photo people on picture day. PLEASE PAY IN YEN - EXACT CHANGE
